What I Have Accomplished

I really wanted to post these pictures of an afternoon last week when the sun was filling every corner of my house.  It glowed.

And right now I find I have not much to say to match...I feel kind of....wintered out.  So instead of indulging in complaining about 8 year old boys and 6 year old girls, I will review a few things I feel like I have accomplished since the new year.

I wanted to read to my kids for 30 days straight...and I did it!

* Sword In The Tree
*Wizard of oz
* My Side of The Mountain

I wanted to get into the habit of reading more myself...I have been doing it....

*Anne of Green Gables
*The Light Between The Oceans
*Hannah Coulter
*The Storied Life of AJ Fikry
*All The Light We Can Not See
* Aviator's Wife

(All read, not listened to. That is another list)

I wanted to start a reading journal...and I have been doing that!

I wanted to blog more...I have not really done that.

And now we are at lent.  And if you don't mind me saying I'm in a dry spot in my spiritual life right now.  I've given myself every excuse as to why I have not done much to get out of this dry spot.  I feel like with lent upon me..maybe I should STOP giving myself outs.

What do you do when you are in a dry spell?  So far I have just continued to say I am in a dry spell..and shockingly I have not been able to get out of it.

I'm hoping for some grace with ashes tomorrow.....

A few month ago Pete taught me how to use a saw.  Then I proceeded to become obsessed with cutting wood and making things out of wood that I cut.

I stopped cutting wood only to become annoyed with myself that I had lived 39 years without knowing how to use a saw.

Like anything I do I like it to be quick and easy.  Making these "frames" and picture hangers were just about the quickest and easiest projects I could complete with Drew assisting my every move.

I made the Alaska and Florida wood signs too...

I have big plans for the Spring.  I want to make a bench for the fire pit in our rock pit yard.  It is just to cold to work in the garage right now...plus I am obsessed with reading right now so I can only handle one craze at a time.
