Our Pope Rocks!!

07/10/2013: tweet from Pope Francis
If we wish to follow Christ closely, we cannot choose an easy, quiet life. It will be a demanding life, but full of joy.

I love the fact that the Pope "tweets".  I myself don't really get tweeting...but our Pope...OUR POPE!!!!  He tweets.  He tweets things that stay in my heart during the day.

I have read a few of his homilies and just recently the first few pages of his new, and first, encyclical, Lumen Fidie.  He writes in such a real manor.  Anyone can identify with what he says.  It is exciting.  He inspires with every word and thought.  His love for our Lord is saturating his words and you just feel it.

Lumen Fidie, the first few pages at least, talks about God being light...true light.  When you have God's light it brings life to all places in your soul.  All day I have been thinking about how true this is.  When I am focused on God's light it is much easier to ...talk patiently to the active 4 year old....smile at the ...I'm going to be late phone call.  It is when I am not focused on God or allowing Him to be part of the "darker" moments that I don't make the choices I know I NEED to be making.

What a gift.  Our faith.  Our Pope. Our loving God.

  2. Lisa, I literally teared up at this part: "When I am focused on God's light it is much easier to ...talk patiently to the active 4 year old....smile at the ...I'm going to be late phone call. It is when I am not focused on God or allowing Him to be part of the "darker" moments that I don't make the choices I know I NEED to be making.

You have no idea how those words touched my soul today.

  3. Did you delete your instagram? I've tried looking up your account and can't find it. I'm inspired to grow in the love of Christ by reading your blog. You show that true strength lies in being real and not fooling ourselves into this "image" that society paints for us! Thank you! And my prayers are with your family through this transition to Alaska!! :-)

  4. Thanks Sarah,
I appreciate your sweet comment. I to have felt the "image" that moms feel the need to fit in..even in the Catholic mom culture. I wish I could be the mom I want to be..I try everyday and then try harder the next!!
    God Bless,
