A Romp In The Woods

A few weeks ago I was talking to my friend Jane and she said she wondered what it would have been like to have had a cheerful mom.  That sentence has stuck with me.

I want my kids to be transformed because I try to be cheerful.  That is not to say that I don't LOOSE it over Molly breaking our printer right after I bought $60 worth of ink. And various other mind blowing annoying things....

I am just trying to live in the land of contentment and cheerfulness..not phony, plastic smile cheerful..but really looking to be of good cheer.

It can be a struggle when the mountain of work I get to do seems unmanageable...but these kids....
they make me laugh....

And I can just transform a moment when I say.."Throw this on..let's go to the woods and take some pictures..."  What fun we have trying to smile but not smile...look mysterious without looking mysterious, look at me but don't look at me, look natural but look natural doing this....

All the while Priscilla following us and wanting in on the action.."Hold you me mama!"  My hands full, my camera heavy and light all around us....

My girls...my kids...my joy!!

  2. I love this romp--it is good to see other children in ragtag outfits playing and delighting outdoors. Our woods currently looks like a hobo village as do the children who romp in it. When my husband commented on this fact our 9 year old said "good, that's what it is suppose to be."
