Yarn Along With Ginny

Ginny from Small Things started this meme to have people share their knitting projects and what they are reading. So here we go...

I MADE THIS...

I am sorry for shouting..but I MADE THIS!!!

I saw this on the cover of Last Minute Knitted Gifts..a great book that I bought last week.  I knew the minute I took the book from the UPS driver that I was GOING TO MAKE THAT CUTE SACK ON THE COVER!!!!

And I did!!  And guess what????  I got the EXACT yarn that the pattern called for...what a novel idea.
It was knit with Blue Sky Alpaca...which is now MY FAVORITE YARN EVER!!

Sorry about the vast number of pictures of this little guy, but I am giving him away on Friday night and I will miss him.  I just want to remember the time we spent together.  It was lovely.

I learned several new things with this project .  I made my first I-cord.  Which I now want to knit like 500 feet of I-cord just to have on hand in case I need some adorable ribbon for present wrapping.
I also learned how to make an eyelit stitch.  Very simple and fun!!

I will be making more of those little sacks!!

I had to throw this in for my mom...this is the knitting bag Pete got me for my birthday.  I love this bag and I want you all to own one (this would be a great time for me to say I am having a give-a-way with this bag..but that is IMPOSSIBLE because I am UNEMPLOYED  (kinda)!!!)

This scarf has been on my needles for 3 weeks now.  I love her and I am so exited to wear her..I just keep starting new things and I have not finished her.  I am coming sweety..
And yes that is SEQUENCE in the yarn....kinda fancy for a hand  knit scarf.

And this is my cable knit scarf that I love working on... s...l...o...w...l...y.  I really love this yarn and I really like cabling...I just need a little more focus when working on the cable needle...one wrong move and I don't think I could get it back correctly.

I should have taken a picture of the 100 knitting books that I keep checking out from the library but I didn't,
Just know that I am reading
Knitting Little Luxiures  and
Last Minute Knitted Gifts
and imagine I had a picture of them right here.

Wandered down your blog a bit. Such a lovely family. So glad you are homeschooling and get to share all those wonderful moments. I unschooled my kids, too, and my daughter is starting with the next generation. I love the lifestyle!

  5. Oh do I just LOVE your little knit bag. It is so super cute and your scarf turned out great! You have been a busy little bee *grin*. You should definitely give crocheting a try one day to. It's actually quite simple and I love that I only have to control one needle LOL. Have a lovely day!

  13. How is the knitting with the sequins? Fun and exciting or stressed and painful? I've been so tempted by sparkly pretty yarn...
