Am I This Good Of A Mom?

Sometimes I am not sure how this sweet, patient, loving woman created me.  I am SO opposite of her.  And sometimes that is not a good thing.

When I told my mom that I had this sweater that I loved but it was so pilled that I was going to have to get rid of it she said.."Bring it here!" I ran to my room to get the sweater hoping my mom had some magic to poof, make all the pills disappear.

She did make all the pills disappear , but there was no magic...just patience and fortitude.  She slowly ironed, shaved and lint brushed my whole sweater coat until each pill when running for the hills.
This type of solution never dawns on me.  Slowly work at something until you change it completely?  Really?  You mean I can't rush through everything all the time?  What would I have done in this same situation, if this was Emily and I was the mom?  I would have said, "Poor thing, I hate when that happens.  Let mama buy you a new sweater. I'll get myself one too"  Never once would I have thought, "Let me work on that for you."
How cool!  I am amazed at my mom all the time.  She is nothing like me in most ways...she is slow where I am SO NOT SLOW!!!  She is patient when I AM SO NOT PATIENT (I fake my patience all the time)!!  She is quick to forgive , when I struggle with forgiving!! She laughs at things and sees the better part of most situations.  And all of this is not because she read some book and is really working on being patient, forgiving and constantly cheerful..SHE JUST IS!!! And I get to hang out with her for 1 more day!!

  4. Aren't Moms the best?! My Mom has taken care of a few sweaters of mine, and when she taught me the trick, I was like "Are you kidding?" I have NEVER had the patience to do it on my own!!

Thanks for stopping by my blog, I didn't realize you were moving soon. I wish you all the very best and hope you find a neighborhood you love. There were times in my life I'd laugh and just say I should be a professional mover we've done it so much. My sister even calls me a Nomad. So I understand all about moving! LOL If you need to talk or want any advice on it, feel free to email me! Best wishes!
